Natthaniel MerriweatherPresents Lovagemusic to make love to your old lady byfeaturing Jennifer Charles & Mike Patton
Nathaniel Merriweather aka Dan the Automator, better known to most as the producer of Gorrilaz, or the man behind Handsome Boy Modelling School, is the main man behind this release. Featuring the vocal talents of HoBo favourite Mike Patton, Jennifer Charles and turntable turns from Kid Koala (actually an adult human) this is surely one of the finest collaborations ever commited to CD.
The album starts with an introduction from Prince Paul and then its straight down to business with the duet Pit Stop (take me home), followed by another duet Anger Management. If theres ever been two finer duets on one record, nobody told me about it. Elaine Page and Barbara Dickson could duet for two hundred years and couldn't touch this. Continuing his exile from BLUR Damon Albarn makes an appearance for the spoken word Lovage (love that lovage baby), which is brief but good anyway. Albums of a collaborative nature often have weak spots, but this is an album of consistent quality. This album is popular music as it should be. Buy it. Make love to it. HoBo says; "I aint making love to no c.d."
